My name is Rubén. I saw u for the first time tonite on Hannity + Colmes and was greatly impressed with your lively demeanor, clarity, fairness, and objectivity. I just read your article "It's My Party But I Don't Feel Part Of It." As a kid who grew up in Spanish Harlem surrounded by a liberal mentality, i can relate to the general sense and perception of being subtly ostracized by my peers, friends, and even family when i express social + political views that are contrary to theirs. It's refreshing to see a highly educated black woman like you express yourself without trepidation. It's clear that u think on your feet.

I saw that u received a party nomination for congress in '96. Please continue to move forward in politics. After what little i saw tonite + what little I've read - i believe you're the kind of person we need in Washington to represent those of us who are caught in the Twilight Zone of minority conservatives. I love to see articulate professionals like you and Michael Steele and other black and hispanic conservatives move up and become a clear and reasonable voice without seeming to fade away toward a lofty elitism that many of our liberal "Brothers + Sisters" seem to embrace. We need educated,

We need articulate,

We need Down to Earth.

Rubén, I concur with you that Sophia's intelligence, strength and perspective makes her well suited to being an important new voice in Washington--one that's sorely needed. I, too, am a fan and supporter.


Sophia, you obviously aren't intimidated by negative posts, but I don't believe leaving disgusting posts up serves any good purpose. Thanks.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am white but Sophia, I saw you for the first time on Hannity and soon not to be Colmes. All I can say is Wow! Breathtaking Beauty and Brains, who knows how to shut Colmes up with articulate facts. I could not vote for Obama. He had just too many negative points and was in my opinion just too much of a liar with too little experience. However, You I would vote for in 2012 or 2016, if I live that long, since I am 64. Go run for office and get some real experience.

One additional thing Mattie--I voted for Barack Obama and worked for his campaign as a legal counsel here in Virginia. Your post really has me incensed as you attack and impugn my loyalty to my race, and accuse me of tearing down a black woman, black men, and black children. You disgust me more than the white racist who posted on this blog after I wrote my Op-ed in the Post on November 22, 2008 about Blacks and the GOP--his nasty venom filled posts calling me a "nigger bitch" only worthy of cleaning his house--lets me know that you and he are cut from the same cloth.
